Travelling student

Okay, so I've been accepted. One of my first questions are: Does Reed provide linen for bed rooms?

I'd also like to know what you Reedies brought with you to College, and what you think is vital to living at Reed.

I know flipflops in the bathroom is important... I figured that one out upon visiting, lol.

By the way, I'm traveling from Miami, FL to Portland. Anyone from MIA, let me know what you brought, too.

Try this: [Orientation 2009](<a href=“New Students - Admission & Aid - Reed College”>New Students - Admission & Aid - Reed College)

Hi! No, Reed doesn’t supply linens. (Do any schools, any more?)

Things my son considers vital:

A big fan. Very very important. Not a window fan, because window sizes vary in the dorms and many are narrow sizes. He has a tall thin column fan.

Powersquid style extension cords. Look it up on Amazon. Much better than powerstrips.

Waterproof backpack/bag. In Miami, you have rain. In Portland, they have ongoing drizzle/mist with sometimes stronger rain, but almost never as heavy as you see there. You don’t need an umbrella as much as you need waterproof ways to carry your stuff.

But other than that, the list vossron pointed to is good.
