Do students at Swarthmore generally take advantage of the Tri-College Consortium? Is there even a need? Also, how often do students from Haverford and Bryn Mawr join classes at Swartmore or attend Swarthmore's social events?

“Do students at Swarthmore generally take advantage of the Tri-College Consortium? Is there even a need?”
Not many do, because there is rarely a need. But those who need to, can and do go to Haverford and Bryn Mawr for classes. I have one friend taking a Middle East policy seminar at Haverford next semester, and I’ve known people to take Cities classes at Bryn Mawr or go to use resources that only their library has. Socially speaking, very few Swat students go to the Bi-co for social reasons, but certain bands/concerts will draw people there, etc. I personally have friends in the Bi-co and participate in a tri-co extracurricular activity, so I go there quite often, but I’m the exception, not the rule.

Classes? Depends on the class. There are lots of Bryn Mawr students in Linguistics, for example, but relatively few in other classes. Social events? Some Bryn Mawr women enjoy coming to Swarthmore parties, and Bi-co students in general will come for concerts/bands that they like.

You could probably find stats for this somewhere, but the short answer is no.

Too often IMO.
