Triangle Diner Gone

Just an fyi for those returning to campus in a couple weeks; the lame excuse for a dining establishment that was Triangle is no more, I think it closed officially either this friday or last. A Tony Luke’s sandwhich shop will be taking it’s place, a chain that actually serves edible food. It is not certain yet whether they will take dining dollars or be open as late as Triangle (the establishments only redeeming qualities), but here’s hoping, and good riddance to the crappy and overpriced Triangle fare.

Also, apprently there’s a Starbucks going into Houston Hall.

NOOOO, i spent the summer at penn, buffalo chicken tenders + french fries and a drink= TRIANGLE DINER being awesome

thank the lord that place was terrible. Tony Luke's is definitely good. They are adding a starbucks next to the Subway (in commons), and they are adding a quiznos, kfc, & taco bell on walnut. Still the only good food places around campus are White Dog, Pod, LTs, Cosi, Penne, Pizza Rustica and New Deck is a decent pub...everything else is so blah.

Thank the sweet sweet mother of G-d that the pile of soggy grease known as Triangle diner no longer is. Say helloooooo to Taco Bell, HELL YES. I can almost taste those chilupas, mmm...

And bern, you left out a bunch of places - Beijing, Sitar, and Qdoba for instance are all pretty tasty. Not as high class as Cosi, but they get the job done ;)

oh i forgot beijing and sitar (qdoba is a pile of dog crap compared to Chipotle). Although for chinese I prefer New Number One instead of Beijing. I also forgot allegros, good place to get a 40 a piece of pizza. What's the name of the japanese place next to that ghetto arcade on spruce? Is is Nara or something like that ? That place is awesome for saki bombing. Greek lady isn't bad either.

MMMMMmmmm I LOVE GREEK LADY!!

Only number I have on Speed Dial that I call at least once a week... my friends tried to make me take out the number after I called it to order 3 gyros for myself the Saturday of Spring Fling while I was completely wasted... all my friends found me in my room, sprawled over my desk, with tatziki sauce all over my face, the gyros all over the place, and me saying I gave the delivery guy all the money in my wallet.... Yeah, maybe not such a good idea.

who calls and orders food anymore? campusfood.com baybee!

there's a new place called China Inn that honestly rivals New Number 1 for delivery time. 20 min last time- and you get a free 2 liter of soda for orders over $20.

This may be a truly retarded question, but: restaurants deliver to the high rises right?

yes. You meet them downstairs in the lobby.

I used to order from Cav's when I was in North, and it's litterally 2 blocks away.

The Tsang chinese food truck on Spruce is still the best bang-for-your-buck food on campus: a full meal that's almost as good as beijing's for $3, no delivery though :-(. Nara's food is also amazing, if you actually go there for something other than sake-bombs. Gotta say i'm partial to the 2 crepe places as well, and The Greek Lady definately has the best overall menu, though Primo's still has the best hoagies ever, anywhere, period.

If ya wanna talk about food carts, what about Hemo's with his oh so special Hemo's sauce? Or Mexicali, where you can get a tasty burrito for like a dollar? Eh what am I sayin, it's all gooood!

not a fan of hemo's, mostly because their cheesteaks are waaay overrated by people who haven't clogged their arteries enough to know any better, mexicali is the truth though.

I've missed greek lady farrr too much this summer! I can't wait to get a chicken finger hero when I get back! mmmmmm

And as for triangle being gone, it's no big loss to me.. I ate there once.. During Fling.. Greasy chicken fingers + greasy fries + lots of random alcohol don't mix well!

And will this starbucks take Dining Dollars? Because if it does, I'm going to have none left by the end of the first month!

that remains to be seen, if it turns out to be in Commons and not Houston, as was mentioned earlier, I'd be very surprised if it didn't.

Taco Bell? Where did you hear about this?

It's going in the Moravian Cafes... it was all over the paper because people are protesting it due to their treatment of migrant tomato pickers.

Yeah, Taco Bell, Quiznos, and many more. It is all in the Daily Pennsylvanian... http://www.dailypennsylvanian.com/vnews/display.v/ART/4264c78ac4378?in_archive=1

muppetcoat just wait until eatnow.com starts. It will definitely be better than campusfood.com. Many more restaurant options, faster processing time, etc. Campusfood orders usually take 1hr! Not with eatnow.com as the facebook group claims, it's better than porn. lol My good friend is the one who started it.

"Campusfood orders usually take 1hr! "

Maybe for you.

Haha, I agree with muppetcoat... campusfood.com orders were quite speedy in my experience.
