trimester?

hey guys,

i'm not entirely sure how anything is at w+l, but i've been hearing that w+l uses a trimester calendar.

like a mandatory spring term for internships/travel abroad programs?

i'm a bit confused and i couldn't find anything on the official college site. how does it work exactly, how popular is it and - perhaps most importantly - is this a good thing or a bad thing?

thanks

Yeah, WnL has a trimester system. It's twelve weeks for fall and winter term and then six weeks for spring term. Different departments have different opportunities open during spring term. Politics has Washington term (six weeks in DC taking classes and interning). That's really the only specific one I know. I don't think internships and/or study abroad is necessary during spring term, some kids just take classes. Is it a good thing? I definetely think so. Besides having a short term with some special opportunities availabe, it means when you come back from school in april, you only have six weeks left before summer. I think it might break thing up a bit, make the year a little easier.

yeah you can just take one or two classes if you aren't interning or studying abroad

The Wash. Term is also open to non-majors.

And the classes are often ligher more fun classes.

Kinda like second term senior year one term every year.
