Guys,
I got a response from the admissions office.
My name is Lillian Hinkle, and I am an admissions counselor at Trinity College. I received your email and I am happy to provide some clarification. While our office has offered spots for both these programs to specific students, this does not mean we are not going to the waitlist for the fall 2019 semester. Our office is currently still assessing the incoming class, and will send an official email or phone call to the students, should they be accepted off the waitlist.
Looks like we have a chance but, no time for Visa Processing.
@BdCollege Excuse me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t that be 102 or so indiviliduals carrying on to Trinity - if they’re decision rate is 17%? It’s still a bleak number, yet more inspiring than a measly 30.
@Ethiopian321 Slightly disgruntling, as my counselor, as far back as early May, stated they’d be anticipating to accept students off of waitlist. I’ve inquired once more and waiting for an updated response.
@EThomeschool What @BdCollege meant with the 17% was the waitlist rate not the overall percentage of acceptance to Trinity which would be 611 students. Averagely that is the amount they accept based on what I’ve seen in the last couple of years. So I’m order for them to pull from the waitlist there will need to be a change within the amount of students enrolled. That being said let’s hope summer melt is on our side.
@mouca123 I apprehended 17% was the waitlisted decision rate, hence still the number then retained for accepted students would be around 102 out of 600 or so waitlisted- Unless I’m having a totally brain dead day.
Counselor did respond and said that they have not yet admitted students from their Regular Decision waitlist for entry in Fall 2019; though they “may admit students in the coming weeks as needed”
Frankly, I’m not sure how to feel about the trajectory now
No. Not yet.
Just got an email from them and quote: “ “Although the earliest students may hear from us can be in April, we will continue to evaluate students on the waitlist until July. Should you be admitted from the waitlist, one of our counselors will contact you directly”
And since none heard back for the fall on-campus waitlist, we will have to wait. I am not going to be pessimistic and tell you to give up.
Trust in their judgement. At least one of us is going there.
Actually, those of us who haven’t heard yet already have been denied from the waitlist. What we are still contending for is the summer melt waitlist.
And if you’re a intl asking aid, Sayonara.
@Momonepal I don’t think so, my counselor said the only students taken off waitlist were for special programs like global start and so forth. Regular decision waitlist hasn’t been reviewed yet or so they have said.
“Thank you for your patience during the past few months while remaining on the Trinity College waitlist. We understand that being placed on the waitlist is difficult, and we appreciate your continued interest in attending the college. Our Admissions Office continues to closely monitor the enrollment for the Class of 2023, and we are curious to learn if you still wish to be considered for possible admission from our waitlist.
If you are still interested in being considered for admission and wish to remain on our waitlist, please respond to this email with a brief statement by Wednesday, June 19. If we do not receive your request to remain on the waitlist before this deadline, you will no longer be considered for admission to the Class of 2023 at Trinity College. Please note your response does not guarantee admission to Trinity College.
Again, we thank you for your patience during this process and appreciate your hard work throughout this academic year. Please feel free to contact us at admissions.office@trincoll.edu with any other questions you may have.“
