Trippin' OUT!

gpa is fallin because of 1 or 2 stupid midterms :(

This begs the question, really how important is GPA and what is considered a "good" Gpa... i know this is completely dependent on person, but honestly I've been aiming for around 3.66 and im already getting owned 1st quarter its really bummin' me out.

did you already get your midterm grades back?

myk7000,

If you have no grad school plans, GPA may not matter to you a whole lot. In fact, the difference between a 3.5 and a 3.7 may be very small as far as the job market goes.

However, for grad school higher is always better. I'd say that anything above a 3.5 is good, and anything above a 3.7 is great.

I'm predicting a 3.2 GPA for my freshmen year, and I'm an engineer.
Good or bad? Would this affect my job outlook?

Also, what's the average GPA for freshmen?

An engineering major with a 3.20 GPA is almost eligible for Latin honors.
