(Just like everyone else on this board, apparently.)

So I was accepted to about 6 colleges, but I've narrowed it down to Vanderbilt and UTexas. I want to do either mechanical or biomedical engineering. UT is pretty close to free after scholarships, is about 3 hours from home, and I'm in the honors engineering. Vandy, I have to pay in full-- as far as I know right now--, is about 10 hours from home, and doesn't have honors engineering.

My parents and I agree that Vanderbilt people seem more my "type"; I'm a liberal moderate, but not quite as out there as some people in Austin. Both have really good party scenes, which is a definite plus. I haven't had a chance to visit Nashville yet, I plan on going next weekend. I do like Austin, and think I would really enjoy my time there if I end up at UT.

I'm leaning towards Vanderbilt at this point, for the prestige, small classes, and on-campus medical center if I choose to go the pre-med route.
However, I'd like to hear some objective opinions please :)
