Trump in chalk??

Are you kidding me? Emory students are so fragile that “Trump 2016” written in chalk scares them???: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/grade-point/wp/2016/03/24/someone-wrote-trump-2016-on-emorys-campus-in-chalk-some-students-said-they-no-longer-feel-safe/?tid=sm_fb

Jesus christ, have you not seen the backlash by other Emory students? We’re also annoyed by thie 40-50 didnt have the backbone for Trump 2016.

So glad President Wagner is stepping down this is an downright embarassment

Also see the Fear and Loathing thread.

The more public these students are the better because it makes it much easier to know who not to hire.

I am still wondering who in the world raised kids with no capability to ignore speech they do not like and instead they get debilatating anxiety? Talk about a psychological lead weight that severely limits living a balanced life, especially given that something as simple as an idea you do not like throws your entire universe into chaos.

Definitely not the fully story; I would know since I’m a current student. Made a long post in the Fear and Loathing thread.

Current Emory Student here, yeah it’s disgusting and it shows that some people obviously can’t accept views other than their own, sadly. It was only like 40-50 students out of our university which has a total of like 15,000, so do know that the protesters make up a very small minority of our school.

@Benjamin243 Do you have a problem with Emory enforcing anti-vandalism rules in an even handed way (in the same way against all viewpoints)?

Where has Wagner ever said students can’t wear Trump T-shirts, Trump campaign buttons, Trump hats on campus?

Why does any university have to allow students to write on university property viewpoints that the university may not choose to endorse? And, if it allows such scribblings in certain defined spaces, why can’t Emory insist that such writings not be allowed elsewhere?

Haha I don’t have an issue with that but Emory sent out some emails to students making it seem that they endorsed the idea that students were triggered by trump writings and that they shouldn’t have to see them. My issue is with the principle that people can choose what they want to see, I totally understand and agree that they got rid of the writing.
