Trustee Scholarship admission rates, # of applicants

Does anyone know how many of 52,000+ students that apply to BU also apply for the Trustee Scholarship? Also, I see that the BU site says “every year, Boston University welcomes about 20 outstanding students to the Trustee Scholars Program” but does anyone know how many students are offered the Trustee Scholarship (in order to yield ~ 20 students per year)?

@suzyQ7 At the Trustee Scholars Reception in April they told us that around 8500 people applied for the scholarship and they accepted 65. This was the first year that you didn’t need to be nominated by a principal and they saw a large increase in applications.

Thanks. I don’t know that previously you had to have a principal nomination.
