Trustee Scholarship

No, I they don't. I understand the amount of work that would take, but it would certainly help put closure to it if you really knew, once and for all, your status.

meadle--do you live in the US? if so, it's surprising you still haven't gotten the letter.

I got my Trustee letter yesterday as well. Congratulations, everyone!

Does the application status website show you as admitted as well, or does that not yet say so?

They have not yet updated my application website...they just sent me a letter saying that I was selected as a trustee scholar.

congrats on the scholarships, guys!

I got in, but the link on my page for merit award decisions just gives a rejection for the trustee scholarship. Does this mean I didn't qualify for any other merit aid?

Amejr -- same thing here. Nothing else is listed under Financial Assistance, either. Hmmm....

Any internationals heard about their status as Trustee Scholars yet?

Yes, I'm international (sort of, as I have live in the UK for two years, but I am American) and I heard last week Wednesday.

Does the acceptance packet say anything more about the program? I haven't gotten it yet and I still feel like I am in the dark about what the program actually consists of.

I didn't get my acceptance package yet, but I'm hoping the package contains more information about the scholarship. I also hope there is an orientation session for trustee scholars, where they'll tell us more about the program.

Does anyone know how many trustee scholars they accept?

I got the packet and it doesn't mention anything about the scholarship. I think they accept about 30 of us, but I really don't know anything about it!

I am an international student and I've been notified two days ago over the phone that I have been chosen as one of the Trustee Scholars!! : )
The BU Trustee Scholar website, however, doesn't provide specific benefits or stats of Trustee Scholars, especially regarding alums.

What are the specific benefits of being a Trustee Scholar apart from attending various social/intellectual/cultural activities, having our own special residences, and of course, the fiscal part?
Are we recognized as Trustee scholars when we apply for grad/professional schools? If so, how prestigious is it?
What's the competition like to be selected as a Trustee Scholar? How many apply? How many are selected?

I feel like I'm making a life-changing decision as I enter college. LoL. I feel greatly honored, but I really want to consider every single minute details of every single colleges that I've been accepted to before I make my final decision!

What country are you from, manda89? I am from Massachusetts...I live about 50 minutes away from Boston.
I have a lot of the same questions as you. I hope they send us some packet or letter with more information.

Are there any current trustee scholars on this board?

I just spoke with a BU rep here in the UK and he is putting me in touch with a couple of former scholars- one is a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford now! I know that we will be recognised as Trustee Scholars when we apply to grad school and it is a big plus. The competition is huge to become a scholar-but I don't know any numbers, just that it is quite difficult. 30 or so are selected each year. After I speak with him/her, I will post what I've learned...

I'm a Trustee Scholar too.
Are any of you other scholars planning on going? I definitely am, since I got almost no financial aid anywhere else.

Hi ag2007! I currently live in Guangzhou, China, and go to American International School of Guangzhou.
I'm actually South Korean though. I'm flying over to Boston this Sunday to check out BU and Wellesley, which are my top two choices. I'm trying to arrange something with the Trustee Scholars there... But BU Admissions office seems rather overwhelmed with the current "flood" of admitted students visiting the campus.
I also know the Rhodes Scholar ! UWCAC0507, it'd be great if you could update what you've learned !

I actually dont' know whether or not I'm going but maybe.
My parents are willing to pay for Wellesley or Wash U St. Louis... Or Brown if I get accepted from the waitlist...
But I dunno. It's hard to let go of $150,000 !!
