trying to apply for housing

<p>hey! so i just submitted my sir..and did my slr. and im trying to apply for housing and it says "you are not eligible to apply for housing at this time." is there anything wrong, or is this normal? any form of help would be appreciated :]</p>

<p>for the actual roommate survey thing it hasn’t come out yet…it’s supposed to in may</p>

<p>oh no. not the roommate thing. i mean the application to like, let them know you plan on dorming. it says it’s due may 1, but i get that stupid “not eligible” message.</p>

<p>I think you need to wait 24 hours because you can apply for housing.</p>

<p>I guess it comes out later… but what if you already have roommates planned?</p>

<p>Yes, wait a bit after you submit SIR and SLR. The same thing happened to my S and he was able to apply for housing the next day. I don’t know if you have to wait 24 hours, though.</p>

<p>When you mean apply for housing, its just paying the $20 fee right? Nothing else? The real applications come out later in May right?</p>

<p>The roomate surveys and stuff come out later, right? Because all I had to put was my name and stuff, and I was done.</p>

<p>Yes, in May they will send you the actual housing contract. That’s when you get to specify whether you prefer MC or ME, if you’re interested in theme hall(s), and roommate preference questions (which, if you’re not specifying an actual person you wish to room with, are pretty basic questions about night-owl/early-bird and smoker/non-smoker). Plus you have to pay the $350 deposit.</p>

<p>You’ll then get you’re actual room assignment (and roommate info) around Labor Day.</p>

<p>According to UCI Housing’s Important Dates ([UC</a> Irvine Student Housing - Important Dates](<a href=“http://www.housing.uci.edu/dates.asp]UC”>http://www.housing.uci.edu/dates.asp)), you’ll be sent e-mail telling you to fill out the contract online.</p>

<p>And they’re saying to expect this in late May or early June… contact them if you don’t hear by June 10th.</p>
