Have you applied by financial aid by completing FAFSA?

[FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/)

yeah I have submmited the fasfa rejected but I am getting my dads tax info so it should help me getting approved for some aid at least I hope so and he will sign it just not my mom is that ok if just my dad is going to sign it ? or do both have to be cause my mom wants nothing to do with me and is crazy

When did you dad serve? He might be eligible to pass on his benefits to you for the post 9/11 GI bill. [GI Bill Home - (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs)](http://www.gibill.va.gov/)

he served in desert storm and was discharged before 9/11

I’m confused…you say your FAFSA was “rejected”…what do you mean.

When you fill out the FAFSA you (the student) and ONE of your parents (either your mom or dad if they are married) needs to sign it. BUT you need to include the income information from BOTH parents on the FAFSA (and your information) when you complete the form. This is the case for married parents.

It sounds like OP might have filed with just his own info & the FAFSA was rejected because parent info was required. Nick, are your parents married? If so, financial info must be provided for both. Only one parent needs to sign, though. If they are not married & you live with dad, just use dad’s info.
