trying to get into a university with a good nursing

Hello all,
For the year of 2012-2013 I attended to the University of Houston as an "Undeclared Major" student. During the year, I took 30 hour academic credits and only received 20 hour credits due to low grades in some of the classes. While I was at UH for a year, I got a total of 3 F's, 1 D, and 1 C and all others A's and B's. But I really want to go to another University with a good nursing major. Currently, for the fall 2013 and spring 2014, I'm trying to go to Houston Community College and get really good grades since i'm on academic suspension at UH with a gpa of 1.7.

My question is, would it be better to go back to UH after HCC to raise my gpa up and then transfer to a nursing school or would it be better to go straight to nursing school with the gpa of the community college without UH transcript?

Thank you

Go have a nice long conversation with the Transfer Advisor at your current CC. Ask that person’s advice about getting into nursing programs. Wherever you do apply, you will need to send official copies of your UH transcript. How important that transcript is to your application will depend on the institution you apply to, and your justification for those old bad grades.
