Currently I am a junior & am looking to plan my schedule for senior year next year. Currently I am in:
Honors Physics- A
AP Lit- A
APUSH- B
Choir- A
AP Gov Semester- (I don’t have a semester grade but currently have an A)
Honors Pre Calc- B (I currently have a high A for 3rd quarter)
Honors Spanish IV- A
These are my first semester grades. It seems that a vast majority of the classes I am interested in for next year are AP’s but I know that taking all of them will likely be spreading myself too thin, so I would please like some input.
For senior year, I am interested these AP classes:
AP Bio (block bell)
AP Psych
AP Calc AB
AP Spanish
AP Environmental Science
Bio, Psych, & Calc AB seem to be high on my list as it seems that I am headed in the direction of a science major with the possible intent of going to medical school. I know that I would like to minor in Spanish in college as I would like to become fluent in the language. My main extracurricular is theatre, which can take up a considerable amount of times during show seasons, but I consider myself a driven student. If someone could please give some helpful input that would be much appreciated.
I think your schedule correlates very well with what you want to do as a career. It’s a lot of AP classes, but stay on top of your work and do your best.
I saw you mentioned that one of your extracurricular activities was theater, and that you mentioned it takes up a considerable amount of time. How much time does it take up? Will you be able get what you need to get done during that time (as in homework/studying)? Those are questions that you might want to take into consideration.
Overall, I think your schedule has a few pros and cons. More pros than cons in my opinion. Please do not take this comment seriously, as I am just an opinionated person. Do what YOU want to do.
Would you have a study hall next year? Some of the courses will be time consuming and a lot can depend on the teacher. At my son’s school, AP Bio is difficult and AP Psych is heavy on the hw. Maybe check with other students to see about the teachers. Also if you are thinking science, I would check to see the colleges you are interested in recommend physics. Not all do, but some could. Good luck!
