Hey there! I'm an incoming freshman (Class 2015) and had a question about Tufts a cappella. I"m really interested in joining one of the groups (so I think now)... So I had a couple questions...
1. How much is commitment?
2. How competitive are auditions?
3. What kinds of things do you have to do for auditions (if you know)?

Thanks =D

Since Tufts has so many a capella groups, the commitment/competitiveness really varies. There are about 9 groups. The most famous is the all-male group, the Beelzebubs, who everyone is obsessed with (check out [16. The Beelzebubs | Stuff Tufts People Like](<a href=“Private Site”>Private Site) and [33. Glee | Stuff Tufts People Like](<a href=“Private Site”>Private Site) to find out why), but there are other groups that are co-ed, faith-based, or purely gospel oriented. For auditions, you usually have to come with a prepared song, which you sing in front of the group. My advice is to audition for 2-3 that stand out to you and if you get called back, pick the one that stretches you the most.
