What kind of Additional Recommenders does Tufts allow? On the CA it says “Recommender types accepted: Arts Teacher, Clergy, Coach, College Access Counselor, Employer” but when I emailed them they say it can be from anyone I wish? So do they still read it if I put Recommender types as “Other” on the CA or do they automatically filter it out?
I’m pretty sure they’ll look at anything in your file. What does the person you want to use do? How do they know you?
She was a speaker during the TEDx event that I organized. We worked very closely for a few months and I still remain close to her after that. I have even visited her family

By the way. Can I submit my application first and then wait for the recommender to upload the recommendation later? Or must I way for recommendation to be there before hitting submit?
It turns out that if “Other” is not listed as a type of recommender for that school CA won’t allow me to assign her. Do you know the solution?
You answered your own question and then went and did it anyways. I wish I had seen it a couple days ago. The only way I know of is if you can get a different email for the person and pick a different type. Otherwise, have them email it in to admissions and reference your name. They will add it to your application. I asked them to change it to accept any types, but I doubt it will happen soon if at all.
