A friend’s daughter did it last summer and had a really good experience.
thanks @ciervo ! I’ve seen a lot of questions about the program here but not too much detail. I’ll try and get my D to write something up about her experience for future attendees.
My daughter looked at this 1 week program when she was in college. It is set up to give students who are considering veterinary medicine an overview of what vet school is like, how to prepare to become a strong candidate for admission and time to follow current vet students. It seemed like a well rounded program.
just by way of a short review for others looking at the program, my daughter loved it, they shadowed vet students, attended lectures and accompanied vets on rounds. As ECmotherx2 points out, the program is really targeted at kids that are strongly considering vet school and already have experience with animals. In addition to the vet portion of the program, my D felt the program went out of their way to make the experience fun for everyone. It was her best academic summer experience.
