Seriously??? “Early next week”?? Noooooooo…
Found it. Last year’s selectivity blog: http://admissions.tufts.edu/blogs/inside-admissions/post/selectivity
Basically, it says “you’re great and we liked you but we liked someone else better.” ARGH! This is our last school. Wait, wait wait!

There is no order to this list. It was just “Oh! I applied there!”, whichever came to mind first. My first choice is actually Tufts <3 But I’m really weighing on Amherst, NU and Vassar as of now… (We’ll see what 5 and 6 say)
@TheOtterOne WOW that is an impressive list, congratulations on all of those acceptances!
My thoughts exactly!!
I was so scared to see the announcement of the 16% acceptance rate for this year and I’m so worried I won’t get in because I’ve had rejections from wesleyan, bowdoin, and vassar this week, which have higher acceptance rates. I have a 34 super scored ACT (35 English, 33 math, 35 reading, 32 science) and mostly A-'s and B+'s. Do you think I have a chance??
Everybody has a chance. I guess it’s a 16% chance. Good luck everyone who has Tufts as a first choice school.
@gpa2low and @finnegan22 Thank you!! **Update for JHU: Rejected WOO! ;D
@greenpony I got into schools that I didn’t think I would get into and I got waitlisted at schools that I thought I would get into HAHA soooo really I’ve learned that acceptance rates don’t tell you too much. But honestly, it’s not where you get in that matters. It’s what you do there! So, don’t worry about it too much. Take a deep breath.
Ok, so I applied RD to Tufts and I’m also a track recruit, and I received a postcard today from a current Tufts runner . I’m super confused because in the postcard she said “I hope you’ll join us at Tufts next year!” Does this mean that I got in? On the one hand, it seems weird that a student would know of decisions before they are official. But it also seems very weird that they would send a postcard right when admissions are coming out that seems to suggest that I got in. Does anyone have any insight/did anyone receive anything similar?
Has anyone figured out how there were 10 less applicants this year but the acceptance rate went down 1%???
Good luck to all of the students who are not in the top 10% of their high school classes and thus have a much lower chance of getting into elite schools such as Tufts where over 90% of the students accepted were in the top 10% of their high school classes!
@Steward15 I picked up on that too! Maybe ED/EA factor? (Not really… I’m just trying to convince myself)
@Steward15, the admission blog post linked on the last page explained the 1% drop…they expect a higher yield. I’m assuming it’s because more kids applied ED1/2 this year and were accepted.
in the last few months, I saw a blog post by the admissions dean that stated they had more kids than ever apply ED this year.
@mk338 Hi! I’m in the same situation as you and just received a postcard from a current Tufts runner. I’m so confused as well and don’t have a clue as to what this means! I’m already really nervous and don’t want to get false hopes
Does early next week most likely mean Monday?
God I hope so
I got two rejections today…Tufts is my last hope
Got two waitlists today… Tufts, please chance me! Please!
You guys are going to do excellent and be great wherever you end up! Keep that in mind! The cosmos also play a role in college admisions @qwerty568 @johnvers
