@Ctesiphon exactly. They know the ~ rank based on class profile, but do not have to report those numbers in statistics. They are letting in many kids at highly competitive schools below the top 10%,…probbaly most in the top 20% *guessing)

rejected with 4.0 uw, 4.25 w GPA, 2170 SAT, and I thought my tufts essays were some of my better ones…oh well! unless cornell gives me the surprise of my life tomorrow, I will be headed for UC Berkeley 
Waitlisted. I really loved Tufts, but I probably won’t accept a place. Waitlisted at Georgetown and accepted to Cornell (early acceptance, and shocked). So much for closure!
Rejected with a 33 ACT and a 4.6 W GPA (4.0 UW). Not that I’m surprised because I majorly screwed up one of my essays though.
Though, I have to say that Tufts wins the award for bluntest rejection letter ever.
Rejected. Extremely upset as Tufts was my dream school and of course regretting every possible thing that went wrong in my application. (2190 SAT, 97.6 avg, not good enough extracurriculars lol)
Can’t stop thinking about trying to transfer sophomore year. Am I the only one?
My DD is waitlisted with solid good stats. very disappointed.
My daughter was accepted!! This was the last school she was waiting to hear from, and she’s so relieved to just know, one way or the other. She definitely wanted to get in, so we’ll see what she thinks after we go visit in a few weeks (she hasn’t been able to get there before), and we’ll see what finances look like. I think if we decide we can afford it then she’ll probably go, but it will take a lot for that to happen - she’s got a scholarship offer from another great school in the Boston area, and a great opportunity much closer to home on the west coast, as well. So curious to see how this all ends up, but for now just glad she’s ending the string of decisions on a positive note!

Anyone praying for Ivies Day tomorrow???
My son was accepted!!! We were not expecting him to be, as his SAT’s were only okay at 2140, ACT -30, a mix of APs and honors classes, 3.84 UW GPA, good EC- class president, varsity sport captain, NHS, afterschool job… His essays were unique and quirky, and not over-edited. He never was called for an interview, which we thought meant that he wasn’t being considered, but I guess not! Tufts is probably his first choice, but we’ll visit the others before deciding. Good luck, and perfect testing scores aren’t everything!

I got in, but I must say it is very disheartening to hear everyone criticizing themselves. I would hope that by now everyone sees how much of a crap shoot the college process is. If you didn’t get in it probably was not because your SAT wasn’t high enough, or your 4.8 gpa wasn’t high enough. It’s because they physically cannot accept everyone who deserves to get in. It’s a numbers game. If you didn’t get in, it probably has nothing to do with you. It has to do with the fact that there were 100 other students with the same scores and equally impressive extracurriculars. That is not to say you aren’t unique or special, but everyone has to realize that not every rejection is as personal as you make it. You will end up somewhere fantastic and have a great college experience. Please don’t blame the school or yourself. Blame the goddamn process.
@sorvis you have a point here, but your comment on the results thread is misdirected. That thread is intended to be helpful for the poor souls that hope to be class of '20.
