Kinda barging in here, but as a current Tufts student, my advice is DEFINITELY interview! The interview is an alumni interview, and especially if you get a recent grad (mine was a then-senior), I think it’s a really good indication of how you’ll fit in with the existing student body. Personally, I was super excited about everything she had to say about the school, and she said she noticed and loved that, so I came away from the interview even more excited and /much/ less anxious about the whole thing. I’d recommend to everyone, do it if you can. It may boost your app a little, but it helps you personally even more.
Hi everyone! I applied on 12/30/15 and haven’t received an email that they’ve received my application/giving me a portal password. Does Tufts have a portal? Have any of you who applied late December received a way to access the portal?
Just kidding- try to check your spam/junk folder!
Anyone know when we should hear back regarding interviews?
I had my interview yesterday and I think it went pretty well. the alumni that interviewed me asked questions about like myself, my family/upbringings, my school work, my extracurriculars/community service, and a reflection on the past couple years (like if I would do anything differently). good luck to anyone who interviews soon!
@alexandrasara when did you hear about your interview?
@swimfast11 I got an email about two weeks ago. the first interviewer could not meet up with me because of scheduling conflicts. then a day later I got an email from the second interviewer and we were able to schedule it within a couple days
We set a new record in the number of applications sent in to admissions this year:

Cool, but also worrying.
wow…
has anyone received the link to activate the application portal yet? i’ve applied last year and still haven’t heard back from tufts
@MayiqueCynthia I got my email to activate the portal the day after I applied. Check your junk mail to see if it might be in there and if not, I think you should call and ask them to resend it.
When are decisions usually released for RD applicants?
So excited to hear back from Tufts even though I did ED to Vandy. I still love Tufts and would be so happy to be attend! Have anyone from your high schools gotten in and if so what were their stats? Last year we had 15 people apply but only 1 got in. Some of the applicants had much higher stats than the ones who got in so people were kinda confused.
@vandydreamz From what I’ve seen over the past few years, I think interest plays a large role in the admissions process. There are some people who got into ivy league schools and got rejected from Tufts. Even if you have amazing stats, I think you have to show that you really want to go to Tufts.
Hi @vandydreamz me too!! I applied ED to Vandy and am now hoping for my second choice Tufts(: What did you apply for?
I applied to Tufts as a Bio major!
I didn’t know much about Tufts until I attended their Voices Program. But I’m super nervous about the decision. Good luck to everyone!
I just realized I never requested an interview will it look like a lack of interest? Should I send an email?
@anon9362 Don’t worry at all. Tufts has made it extremely clear that interviews can either benefit you or have zero impact. Not requesting an interview has ZERO impact.
“Interviews for Tufts are optional. But really… they’re optional. We mean it. It’s a judgment-free zone in our office when it comes to 1.) students who didn’t request an interview and 2.) students who requested one but it didn’t happen. I promise.”

Thanks
Has anyone else who requested an interview not received one yet?
