@bigdreams23 I requested an interview by the deadline and I haven’t received one yet either :-??
@bigdreams23 @allthingstesla Tufts said on their Twitter that they would be matching people this month:

Hey there, I was wondering whether Tufts is need-blind for US citizens? I’ve found multiple answers online and I’m a bit unsure
@stehyh I believe it’s need-aware. From what I’ve found online, it looks like Tufts was need-blind until 2009. The last reference I see to it being need-aware was in 2013, though, so I’m not entirely sure. I’m guessing they’re need-aware too because they don’t mention being need-blind on their website xx
It is need aware, they told me at the information session when I visited
@gonewiththeair @anon9362 thank you two!
Wait- then is it still worth applying for FA? (Tufts is a reach for me)
Well Tufts is pretty much a reach for everyone. They told me that they never really reject a person based on their financial aid request. They said at my visit that if they like you, they will accept you regardless. So I would file it @stehyh
@anon9362 Okay I just sent in my CSS profile. Thank you!
So, question: how does being “need-aware” factor in admissions? Would a student who has low financial status have a lesser chance in comparison to one who is well-off?
@schroscat, no it doesn’t quite work that way. I volunteered to take a high school student and her mom to a financial aid seminar given by the chief financial aid officer of top 10 LAC that is also need aware. This is what we were told. I’m thinking any need-aware school does the same: For applicants that they really want, whether that person needs financial aid won’t impact that decision at all. The best applicants, the ones that strike the AC as perfect fits, will get in and get the aid. It gets trickier later in the process, when they are considering the kids who are good candidates but not the cream of the crop. If there are several good candidates (not the blow-off-my-socks, we gotta get his kid), and they are down to their last financial aid dollars, they will choose the kid who doesn’t need aid. Supposedly he/ she’s equal in academic/social/EC factors as those they didn’t take who did need the aid. I hope this makes sense as it’s written.
@RenaissanceMom Thank you so much!
@vandydreamz 3 kids have gotten in from my school so far!
@JDBoi78 regular decision??
Hi all! Tufts my ~#2 choice as it has a great IR program – but I haven’t visited and want to know more. I was wondering if anyone here is also considering both Tufts and Georgetown (my #1 choice). If so, I’d love it chat about your thoughts on the differences between the two!
Nope all ED II!
@haz1299 Hey! I’m applying to both Georgetown and Tufts as well. I’d be happy to talk with you about both schools!
Hi! I applied to both Tufts and Georgetown too! Was deferred to Georgetown EA.
@readyforthenext4 and @ellesea Awesome! I PMed you both
I visited last summer and absolutely fell in love with the vibe. Everyone seems very down-to-earth and accepting! Dream dream school!
