Hey everyone I am a Florida Hispanic female applying ED II to Tufts. I am applying for financial aid (and my EFC is pretty low so I will need a lot of need). My ACT is a 31 and my weighted GPA is a 4.54. I am applying to the school of A&S but I have no clue what I want to do. I did put environmental science as my preferred major and it’s my best class but I am not definite on that. I have amazing EC’s and letters of rec. Do you think I’ll have a good chance?
Honestly it really depends on so much more, your essays, your established fit, ec’s/service etc etc. Personally I applied edI to an extremely selective school, and even my college counselor was certain I was going to get in. Yet even with a 36, a 4.4 gpa, 300 hours of community service, countless ec’s and very good essays ,as well as coming from a region not well represented at their school, I was rejected. I say this not to freak you out, but to tell you brilliant people, way more gleaming than myself, get rejected or deferred, and people who are morons get accepted,
and in no way am I calling you a moron, but I am saying there is no way we can chance you by numbers on paper, just have hope, and trust that everything will work out in the end. I like to think college admissions officers, beyond reaching their terribly selective quotas, like to see the best in people, and if they want you at Tufts, it is where you are destined to be:) I wish you the best of luck my friend!
Has anyone else who requested an interview not received one yet? I’m kinda worried but I find it strange because so many people from around where I live go to/went to Tufts. I’m sure there are alumni interviewers in my area. My last year AP Lang teacher went to Tufts can she interview me even though she wrote me a rec :))? That would be nice, especially because to her I am a literal angel sent down from the heavens lol.
I requested and interview and didn’t receive one either. I was really worried about it and I emailed the rep and he said that its ok and not to worry about it!
@sciencenerd123 same I got deferred by Brown and i was super excited about it and I know my chance of getting in now is about 0. I’m really excited about Tufts too though and don’t worry you will definitely be accepted somewhere!
@fjbdveshjvbfd You still have a chance! I know the feeling; sometimes I wish they just rejected me. They deferred a ridiculous amount of people. You also applied EDII to Tufts?
When do ED2 decisions come out?
@VivaFariy Mid-February. Last year they came out February 10. Decisions will probably be released by February 14.
Hi guys does anyone know the acceptance rate of ED2 @ Tufts ?
ED1/ED2 is about 32%. I would assume ED2 is slightly lower but still higher than RD (25-30%).
how many get deferred roughly? Is it a lot or a few? Haha I’m really curious
@sciencenerd123 yeah its crazy how many people they deferred. I applied EDII to Tufts though and I really love it so I’m crossing my fingers!
Since they were released the 10th last year but this year the 10th is a Saturday my guess based on that alone is they’re going to be released the 9th(Friday) or 12th (monday) unless they really can’t decide on certain applicants
@1256asas Maybe the 9th since EDI decisions came out on a Friday.
Does anyone else have the option to submit their 600 dollar deposit on their portal?
@Mike3245 I do too. But I think everyone has it.
ok that’s just mean though honestly why would they give me a heart attack like that lol. does everyone actually have it?
ugh this is freaking me out lol I don’t want to read too much into it. I should just take advantage of this and send them the $600 then they have to accept me :)).
Where is the option to submit the $600 deposit?
I have it too… does anyone not have it?
