My son hasn’t been able to send second quarter grades yet either. I was wondering if he might be automatically deferred without them(?)
If I remember correctly, my son said that for EDII, the mid-year grades/report were not listed among the Tufts application requirements (on the portal checklist).
My son has “Mid-Year Transcript (due February 16, 2021)” listed as missing on his checklist. Elsewhere on the website, it says for EDII, the deadline for Mid-Year grades is February 1.
Where does it say Feb. 1? My grades have been sent just not processed yet.
Interesting. Using the Internet Archive ‘Way Back Machine’ this is what the website said last year on 1/23/20:
Senior Grades: All applicants will be required to send their senior grades as part of their application. Students applying Early Decision I should send first quarter or trimester grades no later than the last week in November. Students applying Early Decision II should plan for their first semester or trimester grades to arrive no later than the third week in January. Finally, Regular Decision applicants should submit their first semester or trimester grades by the middle of February. Students studying abroad (where predicted grades are common) should send those if senior grades are not available.
I would chalk it up to poor wording this year because, well, we had no other other re: grades and it’s most certainly too late to worry.
Hi. My school sent my midyear report on January 29, and Tufts received them the same day. Do you think that they were able to consider my semester grades? If not, would that affect the application in any way?
I read those articles as well. You also realize why legacy contributes to increased donations etc.
I know some schools place a higher value on it more than others. I will say I have met a bunch of legacies while here at Tufts. I also know they get a high amount legacy applicants and turn many away. Just never saw exact stats.
Grandparents and siblings do count as legacy where some schools only count parents. I think Parents hold the most weight and obviously big donors.
My brother applies for 2026. Fingers crossed.
Good luck to you tomorrow!!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to wish all those who applied ed2 good luck! Maybe it will help reassure some of you, but I got in ed1 and applied test optional!
Note: not a expert, but some thoughts: I have to imagine that grades and scores (if submitted) are some of the first items used to put candidates in the yes/no/maybe piles. If someone has had good grades for 3.25 years, I can’t imagine that having that term 2 grade is important. Now, if someone’s grades perhaps started low and were now peaking in senior year, then that may be a very important trend for the applicant and Tufts to consider. In short, does term 2 grades provide Tufts with any new information? Reading random articles on admissions, it does seem like they can wait until the last minute for a couple of final slots. Now, are they set up to automatically receive those new grades and update the profile for consideration so that they even know there are new grades to review? No idea. I’ll say again: applying ED2 was probably the best decision to help improve your odds; far more so than term 2 grades I would think. Good luck!
Seriously? Well, too late now!
Yes, I am banking on that same interpretation. My son had a 10/10 GPA last year, but then he had surgery this fall and missed 5 weeks of class, including all of exam week. Thus, he received many ‘Incompletes’ the first term, so those grades would have worked against him anyway.
Do any of you know when do financial aid awards arrive in case of being admitted?
I am having anxiety attacks.
Ikr I’ve had butterflies all day ahhh
For ED1, we received FA information about two days after decisions were released.
I’m really scared guys ahhhhh
Do we have any idea at what time the decisions will be posted?
my email said 7pm eastern time
ACK! That’s 1 am here!
