Hey everyone!
RD applicant here, Cognitive and Brain Sciences.
I have an alumni interview scheduled for next Tuesday, a week from today, and wanted to know what questions to expect, how much it counts towards admission, and all that jazz from a Tufts-specific standpoint.
I applied to Penn ED and had that interview two weeks ago, think I rocked it (my interviewer was basically me in ten years) and I just want to make sure there’s nothing out of left field for this one.
Hey, I’m a Freshman at Tufts right now.
My interviewer asked me what clubs/groups I was interested in on campus. I remembered a student-run blog but forgot the name of that blog (turned out it was Jumbo Talk). I also mentioned some music ensembles and IM dodgeball. Just do some research (all the clubs and organizations are listed here: http://ocl.tufts.edu/list/ ) and remember the names clubs you’re interested in.
Tufts has a big international scene (both because of many international students and because IR is such a popular major), so if you interact well interracially, mention that in some subtle way.
Something I also noticed is that Tufts students love to talk. I have yet to meet a shy person here. If you’re sitting in Dewick (the cafeteria) by yourself, random people will often sit down and talk to you. So, building off of this, seem like you’re eager to discuss and expound on your passions, but don’t be cutting off the interviewer, going off-topic, etc.
Good luck, hope to see you on campus next year!
