Tufts or Vassar

hey guys... i got into my top two choices (tufts & vassar) and really want some outside opinions. i know they're totally different schools but does anyone have experience with this choice or any ideas?
thanks!

Lucy, since you are in Az, you may not know much about these two locations, unless you've been to visit both. My D is also considering Tufts, so you'll find lots of info on this site regarding the U, but I haven't seen a lot about Boston on here. If you don't know boston, it is one of the greatest US cities: beautiful, comfortable, reasonably safe, with thrilling museums and cultural opps (including sports lol), beaches nearby, shopping, restaurants (assuming your student has a nickel or parents come often), great public transportation, thousands of students from other colleges and on and on. I think that anyone interested in living in a city would want to put Boston near the top of the list. However, you will be cold.

Poughkeepsie, on the other hand, is not exactly a bustling metropolis, if you're interested in that sort of thing. Vassar is a great school too, pretty, much smaller than Tufts, and located in a small, modest city along the Hudson River about 1 1/2 hours from NYC. I suggest a visit to both if you're able and you should get a pretty good idea of the winner. Good luck and don't forget to bring a parka, hat and gloves!
