Tufts v. UCLA

Hey guys I have to decide between UCLA and Tufts by May 1st. I'm visiting both so hopefully that'll help me choose but I wanted to see if anyone here could comment either school's:

International Relations and Poly Sci departments or programs

Access to professors, cooperativeness among students (vs. competitiveness), average workload, intellectual atmosphere - I'm worried about registering for classes and finishing in 4 years at UCLA, and am curious as to how impacted by furloughs poly sci is vs. UCLA's other departments

Political activism

Social life (would love a fun party scene, but is UCLA's Greek scene snobby/exclusive?)

Placement in top law schools

School & sports spirit

I know they're really different but I'd love some insight. I'd pay in-state tuition for UCLA, which is a definite bonus, but fortunately my parents are willing to Tufts' tuition so it's not the #1 priority. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you live in California, you should know better that the “over 4 years” route is baseless hogwash. As a UCLA student, I can assure you that it is almost impossible to graduate much later than 4 years at UCLA or any of the UCs due to university policies.

Tufts just isn’t worth the extra money if you are in-state for UCLA. Tufts makes the most sense if you want to live and work on the East Coast long-term. If you want to live and work in California, I’d go for UCLA.
