I narrowed my college options down to Tufts and CMU. I'll be studying engineering next year (probably biomedical), and both schools have good programs in this area. I haven't had a chance to visit either campus, so I just have an idea of the schools from the brouchures, websites, etc.

Hey, I am Tufts right now I know a kid that was in the same situation. He chose Tufts mostly because of CMU's REALLY dorky social life. Right now he's loving Tufts, he's doing EE while being a DJ part time. However, in terms of engineering you really can't beat CMU's engineering program (except for maybe MIT.... Well, actually DENFINETLY MIT). But I do know that Tufts's Biomed is definetly getting popular here, and I'm certain it will be really well known in the next few years. The school's making an extra effort to make it one of their top programs.

I would say that if you want the BEST engineering program, and you think you'd fit into the student body type at CMU (which is not a bad thing at all) they by all means go to CMU. If you're really need a more rounded student body while being in a smaller, growing engineering program, then go to Tufts.

Hope that helped, It's kind of hard to be objective going to one of the schools (And being on it's message board)
