Which school is more prestigious, Tufts or Wesleyan?

tufts!!! idk, i dont really like the lacs

tufts isn’t exactly an LAC
but anyway, i think i’d have to go with wesleyan.

Wesleyan, but Tufts is close behind.

I think that they are equal in terms of overall prestige. The difference that counts, however, is which school better meets your needs–if you are fortunate enough to be admitted to both. If admitted to both & still undecided, that look at the strength of your intended major course of study.

i would probably say they are about equal. maybe tufts has a little more rep.

: )-
thats y i chose tufts over wesleyan. i was saying how wes is an lac, not tufts

I’m a Wes student, so I might be a little biased, but I think that Wes is a little more prestigious amongst LACs than Tufts is amongst Universities, if that makes sense. But I don’t know which is more prestigious overall – though it partially depends on your major, because for some one is definitely more prestigious than the other.

But they are both really good schools without a huge difference in prestige level either way, and I think their other differences (City vs. Smaller town, LAC vs. small Uni, differences in campus culture, etc) should play a bigger role in your decision than prestige. In general, both will be impressive to those in the know, while neither will elicit much response from the average layman.
