It depends on what you like better, rural areas or areas closer to the city. Both campuses are very nice. Williams is very remote and not close to any city acitivity (Albany is an hour away). Tufts is a beautiful campus and is close to Boston which is a great city.

DS chose Williams. It’s a personal decision. You can’t go wrong with either school; they’re both excellent institutions, and each has unique things to offer.

Williams.Smaller classes, more individual attention, unless you are a city boy/girl and the thought of beautiful unpopulated mountain vistas and fresh air gives you hives…

I think you have to go with Williams.

Take Williams, do not stop at Go, collect $200.

Williams:
Beautiful rural campus in the oh so lovely Purple Mountains
The best liberal arts education in the nation (ok so maybe I’m a little bit biased but US News&World Report agrees ;))
Smaller, tighter knit community
Amazing museums nearby
Spring Street just looks awesome
Purple Cows/Ephs
OUTSTANDING Math/Sciences/Social Sciences/Art/Everything…

Tufts:
Closer to Boston (but not right in the city…)
Really pretty campus, but in urban fringe
Elephants
Awesome international programs
Bigger than Williams

Williams :)

Congrats on both your acceptances, because they ARE both great schools. But i don’t think there’s even a question as to which institution is better between the two.

Why would you go to Tufts over Williams? Boston is a very attractive college city, but I would personally feel inferior if I had MIT and Harvard a stone’s throw away. … Williams is a fantastic institution. It’s more highly regarded and will no doubt be the stronger one between the two when it comes to academics. Unless size is a big deal to you (pun intended), you’re going to get your money’s worth at Williams.

Good luck making your decision :)

gc, you make a good point there

a Tufts student would most likely feel inferior to Harvard and MIT students

but this is not the case for a Williams student, who would be considered equal in many circles…

Dear elyimagine:

Being indecisive is difficult indeed.

Choosing between these two schools will surely tax your mind if not your wallet.

Unfortunately,l I have nothing amazing to tell you.

You need to go to your inner sanctuary and ask yourself what you want to do.

Then go do it!

thank you guys…im leaning way more towards williams

been researching and since i wanna go into corporate law, preferably to a good law school, i think williams is a bit more suited.

plus hey idk williams puts a spell on you its so gorgeous

Just my $.02.

I applied and was accepted to both these schools this year. Williams is now on my short list and Tufts is not, but this is completely personal preference.

I like Williams more because it’s more rural, so I feel like there will be a lot more stuff to do on campus. Boston is great, but I would rather be in a more secluded place for my undergraduate education.

Also, Williams is a college, which means all of the college’s resources (and Williams has a lot of resources) are focused on the undergraduate students, while Tufts is a university, so fewer resources are dedicated to the undergraduate students. At Williams the classes are smaller than at Tufts, which is another huge plus for me.

As I said, a lot of it is about fit, and this is what I prefer. It could be completely different for you.
