To anyone who applied to a New jersey school and got the following form i had a question.

I recieved a form from the state asking to verify some info on the FAFSA, to also list monthly expenses and monthly Reasources. It's just a small 2 page paper for the Tuition aid grant. The one thing caught my eye though. It states the exact place i applied to and says "If you comply with this request.... You may be eligible to receive a tuition aid grant for the 2008-2009 academic year at Rowan University"

Just curious if anyone else had this happen does that mean you where accepted and they want the info? Or does it simply mean they want the info "in case". Just got me kinda anxious they mentioned the school by name regarding next year.

I'm guessing Rowan wants to make you an offer. My d goes to Rutgers and Tshe received the verification form when we estimated the tax return. The following year, when we filed using the actual tax return, we did not receive it. If your EFC was less than $3900 I believe, you will aslo qualify for tag TAG. Fill the form out, it is to your benefit. Tag grants do not have to be paid back. Congrats.

Yah my EFC is Zero so i'm hoping i get a TAG grant(That is if i'm accepted!). It asks me things like monthly expenses and reasources. Basically what i spend on car/food/living and what i make per month. The FAFSA really didn't ask for these things... my montly expenses are pretty low (About $400), though my montly wages are about the same as well. Not sure how that will work out. My EFC is Zero because i'm over 24, even though i still live at home. So not sure how the TAG works in that regard. Hoping for the best though :)

Undead--is Rowan the only NJ school you applied to? Because if so, that;s why they might name it--you can only use a TAG grant at a school in New Jersey. (not to say you haven't been accepted there, but this would be another explanation of why it's named in the paperwork.)

hi guys! do you know when students get notified of the TAG grant? according to my Rutgers initial financial aid offer, it says I appear to eligible for the grant and will be contacted directly by HESAA

it's been almost a month, and I still haven't heard from hesaa :(
thanks for any help you can provide me with!

Go to the hesaa.org website - call them - they are very nice and will look up your file and tell you the status.
