Tuition for year 08-09

Is it really around $23000 for the tuition alone? (OUT OF STATE)
in 07, tuition was around $14000-16000

Please tell me what you know about this.
I mean, tamu.edu says 23k yr but I think that ridiculous...
Thank you

bump bump bump
anyone attending TAMU?
PLZ ANSWER MY QUESTION

Unfortunately, that seems in line with other OOS costs for other universities. I know GA Tech is up ato $36K for all OOS costs and fees...

<a href="http://www.tamu.edu/tpac/MeetingNotes/2007/01-29-07mn.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.tamu.edu/tpac/MeetingNotes/2007/01-29-07mn.pdf</a></p>

You can probably find more information on the internet but here are notes from a meeting where they voted to raise the tuitition rate. I'm not a TAMU student but I have noticed that in general Texans often raise money by increasing fees for visitors (more specifically people not voting in elections in that place).

In every state, that state's citizens pay the taxes to fund the schools. It makes sense that they don't want to subsidize kids who aren't from tax paying families in that state.

Texas' in-state tuition rates are lower than most states'. So, if oos payed the same as instate, then lots of oos kids would come to Texas and fill slots that would no longer be available to Texas residents....the ones who are paying the taxes to fund the schools.

$23k is calculated based on 36 credits per year + some additional fees. By taking less courses tuition can be as low as $14k year.

I will only have to take 12 credits a yr wow that a good news!

I mean to graduate i should take 36 credits but wow that helps!!!!
thank you!

P.S.- Is it really true? I mean Is there any wayn I can calculate that? Like is there a page in tamu.edu that shows cost per credit?

Thanks,

Did you by any chance get a scholarship from A&M for $1000 or more, because if you do out of state tuition is waived. I got one from the college my Major is in (College of Agriculture) so I pay in state tuition which is so much cheaper in TX than in my home state :).
