according to the Centre Daily Times--
Tuition increase may be massive | Penn State News | Local - Centre Daily Times

Yep, all current PSU students got an email about this. There is some hope that the state congress will not go for it. let’s hope the increase will be minor.

HB 1416 passed. The increase in tuition for PSU students will actually be higher than expected.

It’s not as high as expected, I believe it’s up to 5%, not the 10% they expected

3.5% to be exact. second lowest increase in PSU history.

4.5% according to the Collegian-
“After weeks of planning, the Executive Committee of Penn State’s Board of Trustees set tuition Friday at the lower rate of two different options: a 4.5 percent increase for in-state students and a 3.7 percent increase for out-of-state students.”

And there’s still the possibility of a mid-year increase depending on what happens with the state budget.

ah oops. had it confused. Let’s hope the mid-year increase does not go down.

So let’s say we did not get the $60 million or whatever from the government thing. Does that mean mid-year increase will be close to 20% because the first 10% would make up for the lack of fall increase and the remaining 10% will be for spring? I don’t really know how to explain what I mean but how does the worse case scenario for mid-year increase look right now?

I understand what you mean but don’t know the answer.
