<p>FSU tuition up 15%. It went up 15% last year AND the year before. </p>
<p>The good news is that before these hikes Florida ranked 48th in the nation in the price of tuition/fees at state U’s. The bad news is that the legislature is allowing/encouraging universities to increase tuition 15% a year every year until tuition is at a national average. It is projected that if the increase is at 15% every year, it will take 10 years IF the national average increases 7% a year. My guess is that it will take longer :(</p>
<p>UIUC 9.5% “to help offset an $8 million cut in state funding.”</p>
<p>The one silver lining is that at Illinois publics, entering freshmen are guaranteed that they will pay the same tuition throughout their careers, as long as they graduate within 9 semesters.</p>
