My daughter did last May
I had an interview with one of the AOs, but not an alumni interview if thatâs what youâre asking
no. They were filled up immediately in my area.
Interview in summer over zoom.
Received financial aid information mailer today from TulaneâŠanyone else? I assume just random that received today. Itâs weird. It has Financial Aid Information stamped on outside of envelope like admitted. just a general brochure about financial aid
Tulane is so hard to navigate, it seems like if you donât show enough interest and have high stats youâll get deferred for yield, but if you show too much interest with lower stats youâll get deferred with them encouraging you to apply ED 2. Annoys me so much.
You were able to sign up for an interview with a Tulane admissions office if you wanted to, they donât reach out to you. i did one in September
I have received similar info from 50+ colleges, and it means nothing.
Yep. They want people to switch to ED 2 so they know they will go and also it gives them more flexibility on offering less merit since it locks someone in. Many canât afford to get locked in without the merit offer in hand, so if you can pay full price you for sure have an advantage. The way of the worldâŠ
YeahâŠjust weird timing and really insensitive if getting rejected todayâŠI get sending out a month ago but not sure about week of decisions!
A little less than 3 hours to go! We got this everyone!
Good Luck everyone!!
waiting for my rejection because i forgot to do an interview
itâs just a way to show demonstrated interest, I know plenty of people who didnât get one and got in. If you showed other ways of demonstrated interest youâre fine.
Iâm really regretting not signing up for a virtual tour now
If I apply for many colleges, and any one of them can say that I am not loyal/interested enough. The problem is if I only apply for one, and do not get an admission, who will be blamed for wasting my loyalty/effort/time? Feel it is unfair for colleges to say applicants not showing enough interest/loyalty.
I think that if you did the optional âWhy Tulaneâ essay, youâre good on that front.
If you signed up for any virtual events or did a campus tour, you should be good on the demonstrated interest.
Do you guys think merit aid will be released with todayâs EA decisions??? Im dying
FWIW one of my twins applied and was accepted ED at Tulane but did not have an interview. By the time she realized it was her first choice, all slots were full for the remaining 2-3 weeks of interviews, which ended around mid-October if I recall. She reached out to the admissions office and was told they would not be adding more, but not doing one would not be held against her. She demonstrated her interest other ways - essays, visiting (we are within driving distance), and several virtual events, plus a live event in our town, and of course applying ED. I wanted to let you all know so that you know they are aware they did not have enough interview spots available for everyone, and because they did not hold her failure to interview against her. My other twin is applying to a completely different list of schools and we are anxiously awaiting a decision for her elsewhere today. Good luck everyone. Tulane is an awesome place.
