Tulane EA 2025 Decisions

@picklesrcool Yup! Looks like 11/17 is a big day here in NY. 4:30 (3:30 CST) for Tulane and 7 pm for Cornell. Good luck everyone! Less than a week to go!

Good luck!! Wishing you the best!

@A1A1A1 My daughter has applied this year but my response is based on when my son applied two years ago. He had about a 4.4 weighted, 6/250 rank, 1420 SAT, 32 ACT, Student council pres, International thespian, Class officer, many ECs and offices, great recs, from Texas. He was admitted with a 23K per year merit offer. He did not get the big scholarship (Deanā€™s Honor). His essays were very compelling and I think had a lot to do with his offer because I saw people with far better stats get rejected or deferred or offered less money. I really think they take the holistic approach seriously. Oh, and we had visited the campus and he did an alumni interview. He got a full ride elsewhere and that is where he ended up (UT Austinā€¦Impact Scholar)ā€¦hope this helpsā€¦ also @vermonofflorida

Those are my schools too!
Good Luck.

Did u submit FASFA? You donā€™t get Gibson access unless you actually applied for Financial Aid.

You too!

Does anyone know if getting the Gibson portal indicates anything about a decision or does everyone receive one? I tried to search it up on r3ddit and they said it meant the EA got accepted, but I am not sure if that is true.

Do u guys know if thereā€™s anyway to switch out of financial aid? I applied for aid by accident and I donā€™t need it

I donā€™t think it means much besides that you applied for financial aid. If you didnā€™t apply for financial aid then you wonā€™t get one, if you did and donā€™t have one, make sure you applied, or email financial aud

iā€™d suggest emailing the financial aid office just in case

Did anyoneā€™s Gibson portal just update with their CSS Profile? My FAFSA has always shown up on the ā€œTo Do Listā€ tab, but my CSS Profile just showed up and has a Status Date of 12/11. I sent them my CSS Profile in late October, so it seems weird that they received it so late. Is this the same for anyone else?

I doubt itā€™s very significant, but mine has a status date of 11/29

Show 11/4 for CSS but that was just added, previously it just showed FAFSA. Submitted CSS mid-to-late October.

@riverandsasha3 - you just totally saved me! Because of your post, I went to look at the Gibson Portal and didnā€™t see the CSS listed so I went to the CSS and saw that somehow I forgot to include Tulane!!!

Has anyone here emailed their admissions officer and not received any reply (only an automated one that they are very busy etc)? I reached out two weeks ago and have not heard back, even though they have indicated multiple times to reach out with questions.

My son emailed about a month ago and didnā€™t hear back. He ultimately found the answer to his question online (though it was still confusing).

Thanks! Itā€™s annoying that they present their regional officers like they are so accessible, with all the emails they send to ā€œreach outā€ and ā€œconnectā€ and their contact info readily available, but then donā€™t respond at all.

I think they are likely totally overwhelmed with the volume of applications as well as the new and evolving way of evaluating fairly with test optional. My guess is each AO is getting 100s of emails a day.

They respond with an automated email that explains that they will be focusing their time on reading applications. Which shows because Tulane has been relatively quick and transparent with releasing decisions.
