Is this true? I heard that TU's president applied for the Cornell position after Katrina. Is he still looking for another job?

lol, i haven't heard anything like that, but i can't say i'm surprised. I wish he would leave and we could get someone else in here to fix his mess.

I know someone whose parent was on the search committee at Cornell. The story I hear is that he applied a few months after the storm, and that Cornell rejected him because their board was not interested in taking any one who would leave a university at a time when it needed him most. Makes you think whether he has Tulane's best interest in mind now.

That's very interesting. Cowen's term is nearly up anyway. I wonder if he plans on trying to stay beyond that now. That is, unless something happens that gets him booted prematurely.

Not only is there no term limit, but Dr. Cowen has told me an others who have asked that he did NOT apply for the position. No one is sure where the rumor started, but it is not true. Dr. Cowen is committed to Tulane and its rebuilding!

Great news 4 more years and hopefully productive and creaive ones
