Tulane w/ 20k/year vs. NYU vs. USC spring semester admit. HELP!

I'm still waiting for a few others but I don't even know where to start with this! please help! I'm looking for an academic school that's also a lot of fun. I live in NY so idk if staying at NYU would be better or worse for me. Otherwise, I'm not really eligible for financial aid so it'll be sticker price for me.. I still plan on going to law school in the future. I want a school that would be able to help me get into a very great law school after undergraduate school (with hard work and good grades, obviously).

Any thoughts?

Talk this one over with your parents or whoever it is who is helping you pay for your education. If you can live at home and commute to classes at NYU, that full sticker price for tuition and fees might not be as bad as tuition, fees, meals, and housing somewhere else.

There is nothing wrong with accepting a spring admit. Between now and when classes start in the fall, a space might open up for you. Or, you can take advantage of your “gap semester” to do something you haven’t had time for during high school, or to make money to help pay for your expenses once you get to college.

I’m guessing though that a 20k per year scholarship to Tulane would bring the cost there down even below NYU and commuting from home. You’d also have the advantage of being able to start for sure in the fall. It might be your best option.

Law school admission is heavily numbers based. Your GPA and LSAT score will matter much more than the name printed on your diploma. Provided you put in the time and effort, your law school you can get into a good law school from any college or university in the country.

Tulane. Good school, great city, have fun too. None of the three would be viewed any differently by a Law School adcom.
