Turkish or Spanish

Does it matter which language course I take in high school. Or are there ones that colleges highly think of more than others.

I don’t think it matters. My Latin teacher said 4 years of Latin with a C average looks much more impressive than 4 years of Spanish with an A average, but my Latin teacher is a dusty old classicist who devoted her entire ivy league undergraduate and graduate education on Latin, so she might have just a teensy bias…

My college counselor said something similar, he said turkish would look more unique since not that many schools offer it.

Turkish is more unique, but Spanish is much more practical. I took/am taking German as my high school foreign language. Although I would never go back and change anything do to the opportunities German has given me; as far as the actual language goes, I wish I was fluent in Spanish rather than German. I have yet to be able to actually use German in my everyday life. I can talk to exchange students, classmates, and the occasional customer at work. That’s it. Spanish is just something so useful to every day life. Admissions counselors dgaf what language you take, as long as you take 4 years of it and get good grades. So take whatever you like the best(:

My school only offers 3 years, where would I go if I wanted to take the fourth.

Perhaps take the course at a local community college or university? Maybe find a course online?
