Turning Down A Summer Program I've Already Accepted

I recently was offered a summer research opportunity at a university and was given 4 days to reply with a confirmation. However, I was still waiting to hear back from other programs that I applied to However, I didn't want to risk not getting anything so I accepted the offer. This afternoon, I just heard back from a clinical summer program that I wanted and I was wondering how bad would it look if I declined an already accepted offer. Is this completely frowned upon or is it okay?

Pretty frowned upon. But whatever, right? YOLO?

How much better is the second program?
How much would turning the first one down affect you? Is it at a University that you don’t go to? Would you want to apply to med school there? Would you encounter these people again?
Perhaps talk to an advisor/trusted prof about how to deal with this. If you do decide to turn it down, do it quickly so they can ask someone else.
