@nextstepcollege that all makes sense. Good luck and keep posting! Can’t wait to see how it goes.
Unless I have this kid confused with someone else…the parent reported on another thread that he applied SCEA to Yale, and has already applied to some SUNY schools as well.
Read the OP…
Yes, saw today’s post about yale scea.
So, after deciding it made more sense to visit Bard to compare with some of the other schools on his list, I went to the website to schedule a tour and the dates we were going to visit colleges are booked. Has anyone ever called the school to see if they can fit in another party on the tour? Or to see if the have a waiting list and will contact you of an opening comes up? It’s entirely possible they are not doing tours on these days, but the message that pops up is “the tour has reached capacity”.
Definitely call. Nothing to lose.
“Has anyone ever called the school to see if they can fit in another party on the tour?”
We have done this and gotten a tour. We also once got a tour on a day that they didn’t offer tours (the school was on a midterm break).
It does not hurt to ask. Ask politely, and be aware that they might say “no”.
Your can always do a self-guided tour as a backup plan.
And another idea…if you really can’t see all of these colleges…then wait. Let your kid apply, and when the acceptances are all in, pick the top three and visit those.
But, having said that, I would not allow a kid to apply to Bard without first visiting the campus.

Thank you. I was hoping this worked for some. I will certainly understand if the answer is no, but feel like we should at least try.
