two foreign languages vs. AP science senior year

So I’m in a bit of a dilemma concerning my schedule for senior year. Currently I’m signed up for AP Biology. The problem is, I’m not particularly interested in taking that class any more. Now I’d rather take a new language(Spanish). When I made my schedule for the upcoming school year, I was leaning toward a science major in college. Since then, I’ve decided to pursue Anthropology/Archeology. AP Biology would be helpful for that, but I think a language would be more useful overall.

Taking Spanish would also be a lot easier for me. I know I would have a higher GPA and enjoy it more. Furthermore, I hope to minor in Spanish/focus on Mesoamerica. Humanities are my strong point, and I usually struggle with higher level math/science. If I pass the regents I would be able to skip an intro class for Spanish. Passing the AP would give me natural science credit. Most people in my school fail the AP, so no one really earns credit anyway.

I would be taking Spanish while also studying Italian. I’ve already studied Italian for four years, and I’m doing a dual credit course next year. It’ll more or less be AP level Italian without the AP Italian test. The Spanish course I’d be taking would be regents level/Spanish 101. I don’t think studying Spanish will be that much of a stretch because both are romance languages. Our language department is also top notch, so I’m not worried about academic support.

My current schedule for next year: AP Stats, AP Italian(ITA103), English 12, History(ECO101), AP Biology, Gym

TL;DR: Will taking two foreign languages look as good as an AP science? I’m much more passionate about language, but I don’t want a weak transcript!

I think you should take Spanish. It is obvious from your post that Spanish is what you actually want to take. It will look just as "good" as AP Biology.

Two AP classes look fine enough. If you're willing to possibly take a science in college, then enjoy your senior year and take Spanish. After three years of high school, it's best to relax and take classes that you will enjoy. You can avoid senioritis this way.

Spanish is the clear choice.

Thank you everyone! I guess I needed a bit of reassurance.

ElectricTech - I didn't really consider senioritis. Thank you for bringing that up! I unfortunately could totally see myself burning out half way through the year.

Glad I could help =)

Plus.. who wants to take AP bio anyway? Spanish is the way to go :D

That is exactly what I was going to say. And just look at what you wrote OP. You barely mentioned Bio, but you have like two paragraphs on Spanish. It is clear to see that you have a passion for Spanish, adn plus, the GPA boost won't hurt much either. :)
