Two New B.A. Degrees Set by USC College - USC News

Interesting two additions to the USC plethora of offerings; however, I get the feeling that these two new majors are too narrow for an undergraduate education. These seem more appropriate for a Master’s program or so. Although that may just be my fixation on an general, liberal arts education talking.

Those are interesting choices, but I agree that they seem narrow, and I bet they’d have to be based off of a mix of existing classes.

Were these originally minors?

And I thought it was weird: Didn’t USC axe German and a few other languages?

According to their information booklet the languages offered are: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian. I am not certain, but there may be courses in Hebrew taught in conjunction with Hebrew Union College.

Oh, yeah. I guess it was just German that got the axe…
