Hello! I have applied recently and am looking forward to hearing back since Northwestern is my top choice, but I need to clear a couple things up.
Is there any sort of applicant portal? Northwestern is one of two schools I applied to that I haven't heard anything about a portal of sorts. Is there even one or is it just not being made yet?
Is there no way to request an interview (I'd like to do one) and do I just have to wait and hope they will tell me there's someone in my area?
I don't think there's an applicant portal. They sent me an email saying that they had everything but I didn't see a portal link.
It seems like a kind of hybrid system. They sent me an email with contact information for the local coordinator, who I then had to make first contact with. If you don't have any messages from them you should call admissions, as I think the deadline to schedule is the 15th.
In my area (Seattle metropolitan area), there was an email sent out telling studenta who'd applied about interviews. I don't know if this would be the case for your area. Responding to nugraddad, yes, interviews are completely optional and not necessary, but they can be an interesting thing to do on a weekend and a good way to learn more about a school you're interested in.
Go to the last part of this page. It seems like NU still does it the way it did when I applied, meaning, you’ll be informed if they’re doing interviews there.
I’d love to help you with 1. as well, but my there’s so much I don’t remember about that subject that there’s a high risk that, if I tried to remember something, it might be totally made up by my brain trying to fill in gaps. Sorry!
