Two questions about the dorms (Butler)

How often are the community bathroom/restrooms cleaned?

Are the students allowed to mount additional shelves on the dorm walls?

More often than Freshmen usually clean their rooms.

NO. You will be charged for any holes in the walls at the end of the school year.

I believe they are cleaned daily (except for weekends?) but I will ask my D. And MartiniGirl is right of course. I would be a bit surprised if most schools allowed this, but in any case Tulane will charge for the repair.

OK, I asked my D, and she said they clean the bathrooms every day, except maybe Sunday. She couldn’t remember for sure about that. And no permanent fixtures like shelves unless you are willing to pay for the repairs.

Thank you MartiniGirl717 and fallenchemist :)

I should mention that in my D’s room at least the bed was elevated so that there was about 3 feet of space underneath. If you think that having space for extra books is needed, an inexpensive 2 or maybe even 3 shelf standing bookcase from WalMart or Target would fit. In her room at least, there were 2 shelves already on the wall next to the desk, maybe 2.5-3 feet long. It was enough space for her, and she had as many books for classes as anyone, I bet. She took a number of literature intensive courses, as well as beginning Chinese which had about 6 books. I would guess that altogether she probably had about 30 books each semester. They all fit on the shelves, no problem.
