Tylenol Scholarship

Dumb question, but just making sure....This first phase (the online application) due May 15 does not require a teacher recommendation, correct?

Can you apply for this while you are still in high school?

same question as elizabeth. It asks you for your college GPA…

I don’t think you can apply unless you have finished your first year of college…

Have Semifinalists been announced yet?

I haven’t received anything, so no.

Haha, just kidding, ummmm, if I recall correctly, I think something I read said that it would be June 15esque or thereabouts, and then July 15 was when Recipients were announced? Hmm, that would seem like an awfully short time to submit transcripts and a recommendation though (if that’s what they require of semifinalists). Anyone have any experience with this?

Are recommendation letters a requirement to become finalists? Seeing that I’ll be out of the country, it’ll be tough to get those letters. Hmm…

Has anyone heard anything yet? There are lots of old posts on these scholarships, but it looks like a lot has changed. It looks like high school students were eligible at one time. It also looks like the deadline dates have changed over the years. Many mentioned sending unofficial transcripts once you’re a semi-finalist. Wouldn’t you think they’d want an official transcript?

hey i applied for the scholarship but just realized that i listed my family e-mail thinking my school one might get de-activated after i graduated, and if i got an email my dad probably deleted it accidentally. did the semi-finalists receive an email, snail mail, or both? and in requesting your transcripts, by when do u have to send them in? thanks for the help!

buuuuuuuuuuuuuump

The message reads "The application deadline for the TYLENOL® Scholarship 2009 has passed. Please check back after July 15, 2009 to see the scholarship recipients.

yes greenery, i am aware of that. i applied on may 9, before the deadline. but just realized that i listed my family’s email and my father probably deleted the semi-finalist email, if i got one. i’m calling them on monday to find out, but was just wondering if i would have missed the deadline for sending in my transcript.

Best wishes AliAngel.
Please post your findings.

I was wondering the same thing. Anyone receive the semi-finalist e-mail/letter?

To kill time, let’s tell a little about ourselves. My son is the one who applied. He just finished his first year in physician assistant studies at a private school in Pennsylvania. His GPA is 3.99.

Still haven’t heard anything here either. I just finished my first year as a biochemistry with a GPA of 3.94. I am social vice president of the PreMed club and yada yada yada.

In doing an internet search, I found a list of previous winners. They was a nice mix of public and private schools and almost every state had a winner. No mention was made of majors.

I received a semi-finalist notification email about 3-4 days after the application deadline.

isleofthedeep, are you already in medical school? There have been a couple of reports of people getting notified immediately after hitting the submit button, but I think they’ve all been med students.

well i’ll be a first year med student and i wasn’t selected as a semi-finalist. i’m kind of shocked, as i graduated magna cum laude from my university and was published in 2 abstracts, along with multiple other volunteer activities and my job as a medical office assistant.
