Tyng Scholarship

Has anyone been offerred the uber-presitigious Tyng Scholarship? I got into with an early write, but I'm not sure if they've already given them out and I didn't get one or if they will award them later. Have an early writes won the Tyng?

From the Williams Financial Aid site:

"Tyng Scholarships are the most prestigious Williams awards. They are designed to meet a student's demonstrated need, primarily with Tyng Scholarship assistance, for each year at Williams. Further assistance is available for three years of graduate or professional school or the equivalent of summer study or research. Since all applicants who qualify for aid are considered as candidates for the Tyng, no additional application is required. This Scholarship is awarded annually to 7-8 especially talented students."

I'm not certain, but I would suspect that the Tyng scholars have already been notified.

Again, the information on the website is not totally correct. They award more than 7-8 Tyng scholarships per year. Typically only 7-8 enroll. Some years, many more enroll (The class of 2004 had something like 15). Other years, as few as 1 enrolled (class of 2000)

Mikey,
Are Tyng scholarships awarded to ED acceptees? Or are they used to attract some strong RD candidates?

Unfortunately, I have never heard of a Tyng scholarship being offered to an ED acceptee.
