Typical HS Stats of Honors "Program" Students?

Hi all,

I was wondering if any current student, parent of a current student or alumni knew the general parameters or credentials those admitted into Tulane’s “Honors” Program had while in high school.

Thanks

My son had an unweighted gpa of 3.91, was dual enrolled in a local college his senior year (harvested 9 college credits that Tulane accepted), and I think 4 AP classes. ACT 34.

To me - this statement is very much like chance me - there are really no ways to put brackets around the information and say “I’m in”. My son is a freshman in the honors program. My son went to two different high schools with two different grading systems- corporate move. How do you compare? His GPA for the first school was 4.1 (top students 4.3 - no class ranking) which was converted to a 3.8 by his pubic high school. His combined GPA at time of application (end of junior year) was 4.1 with top students at 4.87 - class rank of 21%. His GPA for his public school (last 2 years only) was 4.95. He graduated with a 4.4 (combined) with a class rank at 10%. I have no idea how the admissions officers evaluated his GPA or his class standing. Even with SAT and ACT scores - you don’t know if a score was a single score or super scored. I think the admissions officers take in the entirety of the application and makes an evaluation of you as a candidate and I don’t believe that a set of numbers creates the correct picture of the applicant.
