Typical Junior Class Schedules (Pref. Psychology Majors)

Hey,

I wanted to know what most of you undergraduates are taking your junior year. This would be preferably Psychology majors.

Currently, my plans are psychology major with a mathematics minor.

My school, UNC, lists courses according to such:

<100 freshman seminars
100 freshman courses
200 second level undergraduate courses
300 second level undergraduate courses
400 for undergraduates, with some graduate students
500 for advanced undergraduates and graduate students
600 for graduate students & advanced undergraduates
700 graduate students only

I am taking:

Psychology 220 - Biopsychology
Psychology 245 - Abnormal
Math 233 - Multivariable Calculus I (Calculus III)

Hoping to add:
Biology 450 - Intro to Neurobiology
Math 381 - Discrete Mathematics

one (1) of the following: Psychology 210 (stats class for psychology) / Psychology 260 (social psychology) / Psychology 230 (cognitive psychology) / Philosophy 273 (social justice)

how does this look for a first semester junior? Considering I only came in as a transfer with psychology 101?

I feel like I should have more 300+ level courses.

That is pretty good.
Here are my current classes. I already received an associates degree and am taking pure psychology courses now.

Art 1010 (long story, missed the final, retaking.)
Psych- models, methods, paradigms
Psych- Stress and pain
psych- drugs and behavior
psych- Forensic psychology
All are 3000 level.

Not the best schedule… but by your junior year you should have already taken statistics and research and design and you should be very focused on doing research and looking to be placed in a summer internship if possible, assuming that your goal is graduate school. It all depends if you want to keep going or stop with your Bachelors. Hoped that helped some…

some advice would be greatly appreciated, as I have yet to take stats and research. I wanted to take it this semester as it is a prerequisite for many courses, but I was unable to.

I was thinking of testing out of it.

Also, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to focus more on my psychology courses, or to spend one more semester, since it is my first at the university, in other fields.

for instance, I am taking 18 credit hours:

 1. organic chemistry 1
 2. calculus 3
 3. discrete mathematics
 4. abnormal psychology
 5. biopsychology
 6. social justice

As a junior, I should really be focused on my major. This is more typical of a sophomore schedule, so maybe I should “move on,” from my interests outside my major.

However, the maths, I was hoping to go with a math minor. I need the social justice class (was thinking of putting it off till summer though for the gen ed requirement). The o-chem I really wanted to take, but I don’t need it unless I do a chem minor.

I was thinking of doing psych major, math minor + chem/bio minor… as I have interests in o-chem (relevant to different psychiatric drugs), and a neurobiology course which would work with a biology minor (relevant to psychology).

Help, please… I definitely think I need some focus.

What psychology courses have you taken already?
