U Chicago vs Wharton

This is probably the millionth “where do I go” thread, but I really need help. I’m an international student (in Asia) accepted to the two schools. Since visiting is impossible (too expensive), I was hoping to solicit advice from other students currently studying there?

I really love U Chicago for its intellectual atmosphere. I was attracted to U Chicago particularly because of its oddity. I think I’ll really be academically challenged there, and I’m excited to finally participate in a space where opinions are valued for its ability to stand under dissection.

Since I’m also going into investment banking/finance line after college, Wharton would give a huge advantage in terms of brand name. Wharton would present a less stressful academic atmosphere? I’m on an academic scholarship from my home country, so I cannot afford a significant drop in my grades.

How do I pick? Please, any insight into these two schools, particularly from an international perspective, is very much appreciated. Thanks for your time reading

You cannot go wrong with either, they are really top schools for Investment banking. They are equally difficult to get high grades and to keep your scholarship is not going to be easy, but if you graduate, a good job will be waiting for you. Wharton is a business school, the classes are more on the practical practice side while Chicago is on the theoretical side. That is the difference I can think of and you can choose based on that criteria.

Congratulations with your success and gaining governmental scholarship is not an easy task.

Two excellent choices. I would go to Wharton, given your interest in investment banking/finance. My H who is a Wharton grad traveled a lot for business and said the school seemed to be absolutely revered by his international co-workers…
