U-Florida became LESS selective???? 2008 US NEws from Most to More selective

Was that a typo? We also slipped in the ranking, albeit by an insignifigant amount, from 47 to 49. I am just wondering why the slip at all, since academics is getting better and admissions is tougher than ever. The enrolement is capped, too so S/F ratio isn't geting larger. Do you think they made a mistake? Oh well, still top 50, but so much for dreams of top 25 anytime soon. Maybe the MBA program will continue to rise from 37.

Here is the freshman profile, harder to get into than last year- I really think US News dropped the ball on this one, or changed the ranking system to favor traditionally highly ranked schools...fishy...UF has about the SAME ACT score as U-Mich and higher SAT's than UCLA.

<a href="http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/frprofile.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/frprofile.html</a></p>

Does it really matter? 47 or 49, it does not make a huge difference.
Also, other schools are also getting harder to get in, not just UF. You make it sound like UF is the only school that is improving, which is not true.

Wasn't the increase for UF just this year? US Rankings are always 1 year behind and do not update along with the previous admission year. Although it does say the 2008 edition, it reflects admissions from 2005~2006, not 2006~2007. I don't even know where they get that 2008 crap from.
